Sometimes the only thing that makes American Idol watchable is Paula Abdul. She brings a certain amount of mystery to the show. You know she is going to do something completely off the wall… but you don’t know when. Well, it happened last night. It was Neil Diamond week on American Idol and each contestant would sing two songs. After each singer had performed their first song they stood up on the stage to be quickly reviewed. Randy did his quick buzzword review and this week people were either “in the zone” or he just “wasn’t feeling them”. Paula started to review the first performer, Jason Castro, and gave a review of his two songs saying the second one was much better than the first. But… he had only performed one song so far.

Ahh, Paula how we love you.

She chalked it up the next day on Seacrest’s radio show to reading off of Castro’s review notes and then David Cook’s review notes for the second song. While this part is understandable, the mixing up of notes, what isn’t is… she should still know that they had all only performed one song.

Paula Abdul is a pure national treasure.
